A Catholic wedding in Navarra, Spain, combines tradition, faith, and romance. When Linsey and Alfonso planned their special day, they knew they wanted to honor their Spanish and American roots while creating a seamless, heartfelt experience for their guests. I was privileged to design a bilingual wedding stationery suite that reflected their love story and brought their vision to life.
The Beauty of a Catholic Wedding in Navarra, Spain
The heart of Linsey and Alfonso’s wedding was the Catholic Sacrament of Matrimony. Their journey began with a ceremony at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in the United States, where their American guests surrounded them. They then traveled to Zizur Mayor, Navarra, Spain, for a second ceremony at the breathtaking Iglesia de San Andrés to celebrate with their Spanish family and friends.
A particularly special moment was having Alfonso’s brother serve as the Celebrant for their ceremony. His presence added a profoundly personal and spiritual element, making the occasion even more meaningful. The bilingual ceremony programs were designed with intention, embracing their American and Spanish heritages, ensuring guests from both cultures could follow along and feel connected to the service.
The Significance of a Wedding Rooted in Faith
A Catholic wedding in Navarra, Spain, is more than just a ceremony—it is a sacred testament to love, faith, and family. For Linsey and Alfonso, their wedding wasn’t just about saying, “I do.” It was about connection, devotion, and bridging the gap between cultures and continents.
Their celebration reflected their values, bringing their families together in a way that honored their traditions and their future. Their wedding accurately represented their love story with two beautiful ceremonies, heartfelt details, and a thoughtfully designed stationery suite. Planning a multicultural wedding like Linsey and Alfonso’s has unique challenges. However, their thoughtful approach, such as creating bilingual stationery and ensuring all guests could fully participate in the sacred moments, and attention to detail, like the winter-themed escort cards, served as a solution, creating a seamless and inclusive experience for all their guests.
Thoughtful Wedding Details That Made a Difference
Linsey and Alfonso’s meticulous planning ensured that every wedding detail was thoughtfully considered, offering their guests a cohesive and elegant experience. Escort cards, for instance, were not just for seating guidance; they were a charming addition that seamlessly blended into the winter wedding aesthetic. The dinner menus and thank-you notecards continued the theme, reinforcing the couple’s commitment to a polished and thoughtful guest experience.
For Linsey and Alfonso, every stationery detail was designed with intention. The invitation pieces and ceremony programs, printed in both English and Spanish, were a testament to their commitment to ensuring all guests could fully participate in the sacred moments of their wedding. Incorporating bilingual design was not just a choice, but a reflection of their values of connection and hospitality, creating an inclusive experience for all.
A Bilingual Wedding Stationery Suite
Designing wedding stationery is both an art and a science, and this project required meticulous organization. From the first impression to the final thank-you notes, Linsey and Alfonso’s wedding stationery was essential in setting the tone for their celebration. Their suite, which included bilingual invitations, ceremony programs, dinner menus, escort cards, and personalized thank-you notecards, was not just about conveying information, but about sharing their love story. Each piece was thoughtfully designed to ensure guests from Spain and the U.S. felt included and informed, and to bring the couple’s journey to life.
Linsey and Alfonso had four different invitation lists, resulting in 15 unique printed pieces, ranging from invitations to RSVP cards, all tailored to specific guest groups and languages. This level of customization ensured that every guest received the correct information in their preferred language, making the experience smooth and enjoyable.
