Classic Award-winning Botanical Wedding

Emily & Eric came to me looking for a more formal wedding invitation suite, but with a botanical-inspired twist. They wanted their paper goods to be classic but just a little different from the expected. They wanted them to have a rich feel that incorporated their green and gold color November wedding palette. But they did not want them to have a Christmas holiday look.

Knowing that they were using a lot of greenery in their florals, I used that as my inspiration. Instead of the expected vertical orientation, I designed their botanical wedding invitation in a horizontal format with a gate-folded opening. Instead of right-angle corners, or even rounded corners, their invitation had skewed flaps interlocked to close. Their names were highlighted in gold ink to match their aesthetic look. This wedding invitation suite earned itself an ADDY award.

Their guests were greeted with a welcome sign now hanging in their home as a great memento. Other day-of elements followed the same cohesive look — from their seating chart to bar and dessert table menus and table numbers to place cards.
