In my last post (yes, it seems like eons to me too!), I showcased the first of 3 ADDYs that I received at the 2017 American Advertising Federation show. This post will showcase a second winner.
Janelle & Ryan met on eHarmony, an online dating community. They had dated for 5 years, some of the time not even living in the same city. The long distance didn’t put a damper on their relationship, and in fact, made it stronger.
It was on a trip to Savannah, Georgia that Ryan proposed to Janelle in front of the Forsyth Park Fountain in the historic district. It was a total surprise to Janelle! Luckily, Ryan was sly enough to ask a complete stranger to take a few pictures to capture the moment.
The fountain became our inspiration for the save-the-dates and the rest of their wedding stationery suite. Since family is a big focal point in their relationship, they naturally wished they could share the engagement proposal with them. Queue in the save-the-dates!
Instead of just incorporating the photos in a collage orientation on the save-the-dates, we wanted to heighten the suspense for their guests when opening the save-the-dates. A small 2.75×2.75 inch envelope that held the photos was adhered to the save-the-date. The “Actual Moment” unfolds in a picture-book fashion.
The fountain imagery along with the navy, steel blue, cranberry and rose-gold color palette continued onto their wedding invitations and their day-of elements.
